Contemporary Fiction & Non-Fiction

Sue F. Taylor

Sue lives in a rambling Victorian house, a four-minute walk from the bracing North Sea. From there, she writes, entertains and runs. Writing took precedence when her three children flew the nest and a more flexible work-life balance emerged. Work had invariably centred on research and the history of the locality and thus followed works on TE Lawrence, the fallen WW1 soldiers of Hornsea, and Wilfred Owen’s final year of life in Scarborough. Writing fiction began with many short stories, two of which have been published in anthologies, and one ultimately developing into her first novel, Shadow Child. Sue’s books are available on Amazon.

“This course has given me the encouragement, and the expertise to complete a novel started several years ago. The continual support was invaluable.”

Fantasy

Carl F. Northwood

Having grown up in a leafy and green village in central Bedfordshire, he now lives in a leafy and green village in East Yorkshire with his partner and two of his five children, surrounded by horses and dogs. He survives on a diet of ale, cheese and bourbon, all washed down with a massive swig of Folk Metal music. And yes, that is a thing. His first novel, The Maingard Chronicles Book 1: The Darkness Rising, is now available from Amazon and all major bookstores (if it isn’t ask!)

The Novel in a Year course has helped me realise my dreams of finally completing a novel. Mandi/The Coffeehouse Writer’s work, advice and encouragement has given me the support and confidence to get to that last page, type ‘The End’ and add that final full stop.”

Romance

Nicola Lowe

Hi, I’m Nicola, mum to three daughters of varying ages. The amount of hormones in my house is ridiculous, not to mention hair bobbles!

My day job couldn’t be further removed from my writing. After working in the NHS for almost twenty years, I took a leap and now work for a software company implementing IT solutions into hospitals. During the day I may be looking at computer code, but in the evening you’ll find me considering which shoes my character should wear for their date! Her book is available on Amazon.

“The 30 day marketing challenge has been amazing. I’ve learned so much and with out you I wouldn’t have an audiobook and a blog tour coming up. I also wouldn’t have ARC readers! It’s been fantastic… Thank you fro all your work xx”

“I loved out sessions, not only did you give me some fantastic advice that really helped to get me through to my next stage; you totally understood and ‘got’ what was going through my mind and holding me back- without me needing to explain. I’ve recommended you to people already. I’d love you to help me on my next project too. Thanks so much.”
